Chris Maher

Chris is extremely knowledgeable about D&D. We had many conversations about creating characters as well as the preparation work needed for an excellent adventure. I really appreciated his knowledge and guidance to allow me to shoot my friend in the foot with a bad roll!

Chris is a wonderful GM! He has the great skill of bringing out the unique creativity of each player no matter what their experience level is. He is very patient and supportive with new players and has a great sense of humor that he brings to his campaigns. He puts lots of time and heart into his campaigns, demonstrated by his wildly entertaining NPCs and cool world-building details. He has a lot of background knowledge too! I would 100% play with Chris again!

I am a bit more of a novice to D&D, I’ve played a few times with different GMs (case in point, I thought they were called Dungeon Masters?), and Chris is the reason I want to play again and again. He has a way of welcoming newcomers and making them feel like experts on the same day. He is brilliantly informed on every layer of the universe loves to educate people on the world he commands – and really immerses you in the story and the moment. He does it with a touch of humor, but also leans into the fear and suspense (I believe he was a film major with a specialty in horror). He is infinitely patient, but firm as well, so you feel like you’re in a real (fantasy) world with real rules.

Chris is a phenomenal GM who puts a ton of time and heart into his games. He is thoughtful in his decisions and draws upon his years of experience when designing encounters and making rulings. All the while, he brings a positive attitude and empathy towards his players and their characters. Absolutely would recommend him!

Chris led my team of 10 in team building D&D. sessions. We were a mix of new and longtime employees, most of which had never played D&D before, and Chris facilitated a great experience that really helped everyone get to know each other and get more comfortable with each other. D&D is about problem solving, working together as a team, and leadership development. Watching my employees engage in these D&D sessions helped me better understand the personalities I was working with and everyone had fun! It can be tough sometimes to decide on ice breakers or other activities for your organization, but D20 Development is out of the box enough to be exciting, while also designed perfectly for team building skill development. Highly recommend trying this out yourself!
